Philips Ultinon Pro9000 honored by the country’s leading car-accessory magazine

Suresnes, France – The recently launched, Philips Ultinon Pro9000 LED headlight bulb has been chosen by Car Goods Magazine in Japan as one of 2020’s standout innovations. It is the only automotive lighting product recognized in the latest annual awards.

Prize-winning features, exceptional performance

Offering up to +250% brighter light than the legal minimum for halogen bulbs, Philips Ultinon Pro9000 provides outstanding visibility for drivers without dazzling other road-users. An upgrade that replaces the halogen equivalent in the Philips range, the Ultinon Pro 9000 LED has a cool white beam with a color temperature proven to maximize eye comfort for safer, more enjoyable night driving. The one-piece design makes installation quick and easy, while advanced cooling technology ensures consistent brightness and longer bulb lifetime. This winning combination of performance, innovation and OEM quality caught the judges’ attention.

About the awards

Car Goods Magazine’s Product of the Year awards have been running for 15 years and focus on products launched in the previous 12 months. The judges, drawn from the Japanese publication’s editorial team, look for new technologies and applications that provide enhanced functional performance and value for money. Philips Ultinon Pro 9000, one in a select group of innovative accessories to win a 2020 award, is the only lighting product to earn the judges’ approval this year.

“As Japan has long been a leading market for vehicle customization, it is also extremely competitive, which makes winning this Product of the Year award from Car Goods Magazine all the sweeter. Such an accolade from the premier aftermarket title highlights Philips Pro Ultinon 9000’s outstanding performance and will further boost the popularity of Philips LED automotive lighting among Japanese drivers”, commented Nakao Kento, Managing Director of Lumileds Japan.

A market-leading magazine in the world’s third-largest car market

First published in 1999, Car Goods Magazine is Japan’s main automotive-accessory publication and has an annual circulation of over a million copies. Its readership includes car enthusiasts as well as garage mechanics and professionals in the auto aftermarket. Ranked only behind China and the USA, Japan is the no.3 market globally for passenger-car sales* and the country’s tech-savvy drivers are eager adopters of innovations like LED lighting.
