Drivers can easily and legally upgrade their halogen headlights

Suresnes, France – May 11, 2021 – Lumileds is delighted to announce the launch of its new Philips Ultinon Pro6000 LED automotive bulb in Germany. Approval of the H7-LED type by federal authorities means that drivers across the country can now legally upgrade their headlights from halogen to Philips LED.

Performance proved by thorough testing

A comprehensive testing program in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland confirmed the new Philips LED bulb’s high performance, enabling homologation by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). The “ABG” approval certificate was granted by the KBA based on national regulation §22a StVZO enabling use in selected vehicle models. Therefore, Lumileds can now offer its latest LED retrofit technology to German drivers.

Plug & play installation from best-in-class design

Drivers can now convert their halogen headlamps to the brighter, safety-approved light of Philips Ultinon Pro6000 H7-LED on a wide range of car models.

Thanks to Philips brand-new, one-piece design, the bulb using the same Lumileds LEDs provided to leading car manufacturers, fits easily into many existing headlamp units with no need for canbus adapters or connector rings. Integrated electronics ensure a compact footprint, making installation easy for DIYers or mechanics even where space is tight – just plug and play.

Up to 230% brighter with OEM quality

Once fitted, the Philips Ultinon Pro6000 H7-LED provides up to 230% brighter light than the legal minimum for halogen bulbs. Its cool white beam, with a color temperature of up to 5,800 Kelvin, boosts visibility to help drivers see further and delivers a perfect beam pattern that illuminates without dazzling other road-users.

Philips Ultinon Pro6000 H7-LED also features greater durability with 3,000 hours’ lifetime. Advanced AirBoost technology and a built-in fan for active cooling contribute to long-lasting reliability.

With its strong track record of LED upgrades and its status as the first automotive lighting company to offer a road-legal LED headlight bulb in South Korea back in July 2020, Lumileds once again underlines its expertise with the launch of the Philips Ultinon Pro6000 H7-LED in Germany.
